The Miners

I found a ship with no holes
Down in the bottomless chasm
Inside were the brave souls

There’s a strange man at the controls
Working around the clock
I found a ship with no holes

Breathing in the untouched coals
Their lungs feel the burn
Inside were the brave souls

There burrows run deep like moles
One day they’ll find their way out
I found a ship with no holes

The miners are there to fill their bowls
Having rough hands as a consolation
Inside were the brave souls

Their hard work pays the toll
Joyous that the day is done
I found a ship with no holes
Inside were the brave souls

 

Beast
The wicked beast
glares at me
He wants to feast
but what’s the fee

His furry mane
All wild and free
show his disdaine
for what he sees

He’ll gobble you up
no second thoughts
His tongue flung out
to lick his chops

full from the meal
your life he’ll steal

rock (Haiku)
A rock stands alone
at the top of the mountain
i give it a push

Cardinal (Haiku)
The Cardinal is red
people say that is good luck
I’d like to see more

Baseball (Haiku)
A curveball is thrown
the player swings at the ball
he hits a homerun
